Alfardan Group’s ‘Tariqi’ scholarship programme has announced the opening of applications for the 2023-24 academic year.
The programme, in line with Alfardan Group’s efforts to foster education and making it available to all citizens and residents of Qatar, will be accepting applications through its website until the end of May.
Alfardan Group has been supporting students and educational initiatives through grants, mentorship, and job placements for nearly two decades. With the group’s increasing commitment to quality education, a broader scholarship programme was launched under the name ‘Tariqi’ in 2020.
The programme not only aims to support diligent students in obtaining high-quality education in various universities within Qatar but also providing them with job opportunities upon graduation. Alfardan Group firmly believes in education as a major pillar of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
‘Tariqi’ scholars are selected through a meticulous process after they fulfill the minimum requirement criteria. Once selected, these students are supported throughout their educational journey to achieve their goals.
Students from 20 different countries, including Qatar, have benefited from these scholarships in different academic programmes across 37 different majors. Currently, there are 34 students enrolled in programmes across various high-profile universities in Qatar.
Sara Fahad Alfardan, head of Communications and PR at Alfardan Group, said: “Alfardan Group supports Qatar National Vision 2030, part of which is enabling access to quality education. Through ‘Tariqi’, we equip the youth with the needed financial and professional support to prepare them to become important agents of the knowledge-based economy.
“The programme is not only limited to scholarships, but also provides opportunities to gain professional experience through internships with the Alfardan Group, and these scholars are offered full-time jobs upon graduation. A significant number of ‘Tariqi’ graduates are currently employed in various business units of Alfardan Group.”
The ‘Tariqi’ programme has collaborated with Qatar Foundation to provide scholarships to students currently enrolled in prestigious American universities affiliated with them, which contributes to the awareness of the programme among various students and majors.
