Qatar University (QU) and the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to leverage shared opportunities and enhance co-operation between the two institutions, a statement said Thursday. The MoU outlines the work in the fields of exchange of experiences and exchange of information, including publications, journals, studies, statistics, and data, in addition to organising studies, conferences, meetings, and training.
The signatories were Dr Mariam Ali al-Maadeed, vice president for Research and Graduate Studies at QU, and Dr Ramani Ramchandran, Professor of Paediatrics and chairman of the Teaching Faculty at MCW.
"Qatar University values local and international experts in health education and scientific research fields, and through co-operation with the Medical College of Wisconsin, which combines high-level medical education, research, and healthcare practices for patients, we aim to enhance and continue cooperation in various fields, including infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, personalised medicine, and cancer. We hope this effort will benefit students, researchers, and faculty members at both institutions," Dr al-Maadeed said.
The MoU is expected to have a significant impact on medical education and research in Qatar and the region and reflects the ongoing efforts of both institutions to promote innovation and advancement in this field, the statement added.
