HE the Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad met with Ukrainian Minister of Social Policies Oksana Zholnovych, the secretary-general of the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Affairs Elmas Esra Ceceli, Under-Secretary-General of the UN for Economic and Social Affairs Li Junhua, Manager of UN Partnership on Persons with Disabilities at the UN Development Fund Dr Ola Abu al-Ghaib. The meetings took place on the sidelines of the 61st session of the UN Commission for Social Development (UNCSD) held at the organisation's headquarters in New York.
During the meetings, they reviewed aspects and opportunities for joint co-operation in the field of developing and improving services provided to persons with disabilities and ways of integration for the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, in addition to discussing the topics on the agenda of the 61st session of the Commission for Social Development, and coordinating positions on relevant issues, draft resolutions, and final recommendations.
