His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani discussed with President of the sisterly Republic of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan the existing strategic relations between the two countries, ways to develop them in various fields, and the latest developments in the region.
During the meeting held at Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul Sunday, views were exchanged on all issues and developments regionally and internationally.
In this regard, the Amir renewed his condolences to the Turkish President for the recent earthquake victims, expressing the solidarity of Qatar's leadership, government, and people with the brotherly Turkish people, and continuing to provide all aspects of support to overcome the repercussions of this crisis.
On this occasion, the Turkish President hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the Amir and the accompanying delegation.
His Highness the Amir affirmed the support and solidarity of Qatar with the brothers as a result of the devastating earthquake that struck Turkiye and Syria, and its contribution to the efforts made to mitigate this disaster.
The Amir said on Twitter: "We met today with my brother President Erdogan, and during this visit we learned about the latest repercussions of the devastating earthquake disaster that struck Turkiye and Syria, and we affirm our support and solidarity with the brothers, and to contribute to the efforts made to mitigate this disaster."
His Highness the Amir left Istanbul Sunday evening after a work visit to Turkiye, heading to the Italian Republic for an official visit.
The Amir is accompanied by an official delegation.
