Qatar Airways Group chief executive HE Akbar al-Baker oversaw the launch of the first Qatar Airways Cargo relief flight from Hamad International Airport (HIA) to Turkiye in co-ordination with Qatar Charity, the Turkish embassy in Doha, and Monoprix, the airline said in a tweet Sunday.
Also present on the occasion were HIA chief operating officer Badr Mohamed al-Meer, Turkish ambassador Dr Mustafa Goksu and other officials. Shipments will continue in the days to come, Qatar Airways said, stressing that urgent aid is needed by the earthquake victims.
