Gulf Times Editor-in-Chief and CEO of Qatar Press Centre, Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudahka said economic media is a monitoring tool that the governments need, stressing that it is the fourth estate that helps monitor the general trend.
“In the GCC region, youth are able to employ modern tools in the economic media, as youth lead the scene,” he noted.
Al-Mudahka was addressing a session on ‘Economic media’ at the ‘Gulf Economic Media Forum 2023’ that was held in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia Tuesday.
He also discussed the role of economic media in helping governments “adjust policies and keeping pace” with the desired economy and tools.
The sessions were attended by numerous Saudi and GCC economic journalists and media consultants.
The forum, which was held within the ambit of the Al-Ahsa Forum 2023, discussed the close relationship between the economy and investment across various fields and the role of media in promoting it.
The media has a key role to play in highlighting the elements, comparative advantages and promising opportunities, pushing efforts and initiatives to attract investments and promoting development.
The forum will also lay focus on media’s role in promoting economic activities and learning about pioneering media experiences.
Besides al-Mudahka, the session was addressed by Dr Ihsan Buhulaika, prominent Saudi economic adviser and writer, Dr Saad bin Childa al-Ajmi, Kuwaiti writer and academic and Khalfan al-Touqi, Omani writer and economic analyst.
Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa honoured al-Mudahka for his participation in the forum.
The session was moderated by the Saudi journalist Taghreed Al-Huwaish.
