An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck on Wednesday the US state of Alaska, while no warnings were issued about the possibility of a tsunami.
According to the US Geological Survey, the epicentre of the earthquake occurred 204 km southwest of the city of Adak, at a depth of 38 km.
There have been no reports of material or human damage due to the earthquake so far.
Alaska is located above the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area where tectonic plates meet, and the friction of which leads to strong seismic and volcanic activity.
