A music and cultural event was held as part of the 14th Ananantholsavam of Indian expatriate organisation Thiruvananthapuram District Residential Association Qatar (Traq) recently. The programme began with a lamp lighting by the chief guest, Indian Sports Centre president Dr Mohan Thomas, guest of honour, Indian Cultural Centre president P N Baburajan, Indian Community Benevolent Forum acting president Vinod V Nair, flutist Saji Manjamala, Traq president Soji Nair and general secretary Vidya Selvi., Desertline managing director Arunkumar and Regency Holding CFO Sreekumar were present.
The event also saw the felicitation of the award winners, in the Traq family (which has over 500 members), for the year 2021- 22, along with the class XII toppers and sports winners. Shareen Nizam, Sheeja Unnikrishnan and Santhosh Kurup hosted the event.
The highlights were a flute recital by Saji Manjamala, who has many albums to his credit, cultural performances such as Thullal pirai Isai and Karakattom by Qathavu team, Polyphony music band and performances by Traq members.
The event was co-ordinated by vice president Manoj Susheelan and executive committee members Shareen Nizam, Sheeja Unnikrishnan, Jayapal, Azeem, Sukhu Nair, Shyam Mohan and Satheesh Appukuttan.
