The 11th Halal Qatar Festival, taking place on the southern side of Katara – the Cultural Village continues to evoke growing interest among visitors.
The festival has grown to be an excellent platform for herd and livestock owners and enthusiasts to exchange experiences, show their best breeds, and buy and sell high-quality and distinguished breeds that could help in enhancing local livestock production.
While the festival lays special emphasis on showcasing the desert Bedouin lifestyle and the keeping of herds in olden times, a good number of workshops are also being held on the sidelines of the event.
The regular activities include the daily auction of some quality breeds of goat and sheep as well as the beauty contest for the best sheep and goats in various categories.
The festival will continue until February 24, remaining open from 9am to 12 noon and from 4pm-10pm.
It provides an excellent opportunity to introduce to the younger generation the daily practices of the ancestors and how they used to value their environment.
