The Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), in collaboration with Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services, organised its annual “Ramadan Suhoor” for the third consecutive year.As part of the QCS’s ongoing psychological and community support programmes, the event offers cancer patients and their families the opportunity to meet society members and strategic partners and connect with various supporting entities.The event at Al Maha Island, was attended by QCS chairman Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jaber al-Thani, Saudi Arabia’s ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Abdullah al-Farhan al-Saud, QCS general manager Mona Ashkanani, Houston Methodist Global Health Care Services senior regional director Talal Braidy, and Qatar and Saudi Arabia senior country manager Najla AlHudaib.Sheikh Dr Khalid welcomed the attendees, noting that that the goal of the event is to provide psychological and social support for cancer patients and their families by creating an environment that encourages the exchange of experiences.He emphasised that through the Ramadan Suhoor, the QCS aims to boost the morale of patients and their families and strengthen community ties.AlHudaib emphasised Houston Methodist’s commitment to supporting cancer patients in Qatar.“We are proud of our continued collaboration with Qatar Cancer Society,” he said. “Our strategic partnership is a great opportunity to contribute to raising community awareness about cancer and its challenges, as well as supporting individuals living with the disease and their families.”“Our annual Suhoor with the QCS has become an anticipated event for patients and partners,” AlHudaib continued. “It is always a great pleasure to meet and spend time with everyone here in Doha.”“Recovery from cancer extends beyond just medical treatment; it requires emotional, social and practical support to individuals affected by cancer, including patients, survivors, and their loved ones,” he stated. “Through such events, we leverage the importance of building this network to ensure a supportive environment for healing and recovery.”
