The 11th edition of Halal Qatar festival, organised by Katara-The Cultural Village Foundation concluded Friday. The festival featured various activities that enhanced public knowledge and acquaintance with an integral part of the heritage and traditions of the ancestors, while entertaining the visitors and promote the enhancement of livestock production in the country.
The two most distinctive activities of the festival, were the daily auction and the beauty contests of the most beautiful goat or sheep in different categories. A number of herd and livestock owners who took part in the festival stressed it has become one of the most successful events in the region and enjoys an excellent reputation in the GCC countries.
here were many events and activities for children, such as art workshops and horse and camel rides. A number of school students visited the festival and got firsthand knowledge on the featured activities including the traditional handicraft workshops and the other related cultural activities.
