Qatar Museums' 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum (QOSM), one of the most innovative and technologically advanced museums in the region celebrating the power of sport and the Olympic spirit, organised a temporary exhibition titled ‘Qatar and the Sport of the Kings’ in tandem with HH the Amir Sword Festival 2023.
The exhibition celebrated Qatar's equestrian history and growth, highlighting Qatar's achievements at a global level. The exhibition featured a unique set of exhibits, including the Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe Trophy 2013, the Pure Arabian Stud Book, Volume 1, and the passport of Amer - the legendary purebred Arabian stallion, underlining the significance of Qatar’s rich equestrian history and its contribution to the development of the sport.
The exhibition took place at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club from February 16 to 18. 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum "takes pride in highlighting Qatar's sporting history, and has dedicated sections that showcase sports and its development in Qatar", a press statement noted. In addition, the dedicated areas display how sports have been at the core of Qatari culture and lifestyle, and Qatar's eventual emergence as a global sporting hub.
3-2-1 director Abdulla Yousuf al-Mulla said, "Qatar has been playing a pivotal role in the development and promotion of sports, and with that in mind, we take pride in showcasing Qatar's rich sporting history and its impact on a global level. Further, we aim to educate our visitors and the general public on Qatar's impact on the global sporting arena."
