Ooredoo has announced the extension of a partnership with Al Jazeera Media Network (AJMN). The latest agreement was signed during a recent visit to Al Jazeera’s headquarters by Ooredoo CEO Sheikh Ali bin Jabor al-Thani. During the visit, Sheikh Ali met with Al Jazeera acting director-general Dr Mostefa Souag and Al Jazeera executive director of Technology and Operations Ahmad al-Fahad to sign a two-year extension to the existing partnership that will see Ooredoo continue to act as the preferred managed services provider to the Al Jazeera Global Media Cloud (AGMC).

Ooredoo has already provided complex services to AJMN and AGMC on a global scale since 2014. Sheikh Ali extended his thanks to Al Jazeera for their continued trust in Ooredoo and expressed his confidence that the two entities will continue to enjoy a long and mutually beneficial relationship. For his part, Dr Souag welcomed the Ooredoo delegation, expressing his appreciation for the services provided to the network.

Sheikh Ali said, “We are proud to be a trusted partner of AGMC and AJMN, and to extend our working relationship with such a well-respected international media network. We take pride in delivering superior products and services as part of our mission to upgrade our customers’ worlds, and look forward to continuing to explore ways in which we can, in turn, help AJMN enhance their offering to the media industry.”

AGMC continues to support Al Jazeera’s broadcasting, spanning six continents with its delivery of real-time news, documentaries and digital media content. Al-Fahad said, “We are excited to continue working with Ooredoo and using its technologies and services, and we hope that this agreement will enable us to explore new opportunities in the future.”

Sheikh Ali’s visit to Al Jazeera was the first in a series of visits designed to reinforce Ooredoo’s strong position as a leader in the ICT domain, and highlight its provision of next-generation technology in the form of unique products and services to strategic customers.
