Influential business leaders, academics and heads of government are expected to attend the third edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, which is scheduled to be held from May 23-25, a top official has said.
Chairperson of Supreme Committee for Organising Qatar Economic Forum and CEO of Media City Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani said the 2nd edition of the Forum, Powered by Bloomberg, held in June last year was a great success.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), he said that next edition will highlight the necessary innovations to move the global economy forward.
Sheikh Ali said the goal of the 2nd edition was to formulate a dialogue bank to find solutions to some of the most pressing global challenges, such as the ongoing supply chain crisis, the gap between future jobs and the current capabilities of the workforce in the post-pandemic world.
He stressed that the aim of organising a 3rd edition of the Qatar Economic Forum was to chart the course for the future stages of global economic growth by building on previous achievements.
Sheikh Ali said the Forum contributed to supporting an ongoing dialogue.
As demonstrated by previous editions, the forum is a catalyst for co-operative agreements that will create real solutions and business partnerships.
He told QNA: “With the successful conclusion of Qatar 2022, better conclusions are now available. The post-tournament stage will allow us to draw the world’s attention to development plans and economic diversification in a country. At the local level, our focus will be on economic development and economic diversification plans that anticipate future needs. From this standpoint, the Forum will provide an opportunity to discuss our common goals and challenges with regional and global participants.”
The 2023 edition is set to continue building on the success this Forum has achieved in its previous editions, HE Sheikh Ali stressed.The Chairperson of the Supreme Committee organising Qatar Economic Forum pointed out that QEF 2023 will focus on prominent global challenges that affect societies and economies around the world.
