Old Doha Port is gearing up for Qatar National Day celebrations Wednesday with a lineup of cultural activities and performances.The celebrations will begin at 4pm with a live performance by a traditional Qatari band, continuing until 10pm. Visitors will have the chance to explore traditional Qatari crafts, with craftsmen showcasing live demonstrations from 4pm to 10pm, of activities including ship building, pottery, and fish net installation.The artisans will demonstrate how to make bait boxes, knitted fishing nets, bamboo handcrafts, and more.Attendees will be able to witness the intricacies of calligraphy, henna art, Al Sadu weaving, and bisht embroidery. Gypsum carving and hay handicraft will also be on display.The Nomas Centre, an educational institution under the Ministry of Culture dedicated to youth development by engaging them in activities related to the heritage and authentic customs of the people of Qatar. Visitors can participate in traditional Qatari games such as Taq Taq Taqiya, Al-Sobba, and Al-Dahrouj.
