'Educated sons and daughters are strength of Qatar'

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi affirmed that the keenness of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to honour distinguished students and to share their joy in their accomplishment is proof of the faith of His Highness that education is the strategic choice towards sustainable development and that the educated sons and daughters of a country are the strength with which a country is built.
During her speech on Wednesday at the Education Excellence Award ceremony, she expressed her pride in His Highness the Amir attending the ceremony and honouring the winners, adding that the ministry encourages its educational institutions to create a healthy, safe, and an attractive educational environment, which brings forth leadership, scientific excellence, and innovation.
HE the Minister pointed out that the Education Excellence Award serves as an acknowledgment of the academic excellence of students and as an encouragement to all individuals and educational institutions to improve, promote a positive attitude towards learning, and spread a culture of innovation and scientific research among students and researchers, and educational institutions, setting forth a spirit of integrity, competition, and direct their energies towards Qatar's developmental goals.
She stressed parents' great role in encouraging their children and providing them with a suitable environment for excellence.
Lieutenant Farhoud Zayed al-Hajri, Education Excellence Award Winner for the university student category, gave a speech on behalf of the distinguished honorees, in which he praised the care of His Highness the Amir for education, the honorees, and Qatar's progress and prosperity.
The Education Excellence Award honours academically distinguished students in Qatar, promoting excellence and encouraging development and positive attitudes towards knowledge, scientific research, and innovation among students, researchers, and educational institutions. (QNA)
