The Language Institute of the Qatar Armed Forces signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar University (QU) to enhance joint cooperation between them and benefit from the joint capabilities of the two parties to serve the two institutions, including working in the academic and scientific fields and exchanging experiences.
The MoU was signed by Director of the Languages Institute Brigadier General (Pilot) Hassan bin Abdullah Ahmed Al Abdullah and QU's Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr Omar Al Ansari.
The MoU stipulates joint work in the field of exchanging experiences and information to enhance scientific and research cooperation and joint cooperation, including organising conferences, seminars, workshops and lectures, and organising training courses to raise competencies and build capacity for the Qatari community, in addition to exploring prospects for future cooperation, benefiting from joint capabilities, and setting appropriate mechanisms to implement the proposed programs between the two sides.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding comes out of the belief in the vital and effective role of the cooperation of the Language Institute of the Qatar Armed Forces with Qatar University.
In comments on the occasion, Brigadier General (Pilot) Hassan bin Abdullah Ahmed Al Abdullah said: "This agreement comes with the aim of exchanging experiences in the scientific and academic field between the two parties to develop the competencies and cadres included in the two institutions, and joint cooperation in organising conferences, seminars and workshops, and working on joint and new programs between the two parties."
He pointed out that the Language Institute of the Qatari Armed Forces includes in its education eight different languages, including English, French and Turkish, and has many translated books on military terminology. In addition, the institute has an accredited IELTS center and in 2022 the institute was awarded the best IELTS center of the British Council with a percentage of 93%, he added.
For his part, Dr Omar Al Ansari said: "It gives us great pleasure to sign an agreement with the Language Institute of the Qatari Armed Forces, despite the different tasks and disciplines of both institutions, we share several goals, including the idea of preparing a conscious, educated person with knowledge who can deal with life changes at a high level of education. We are very pleased to have reached this stage, which will enable both parties to benefit from the joint capabilities that serve the two institutions."
