The Ministry of Labour (MoL) on Wednesday honoured Gulf Times Editor-in-Chief Faisal Abdulhameed al-Mudhahka for the newspaper’s contributions to realise the ministry’s vision and goals. The honouring came as a recognition of Gulf Times’ bond with MoL’s to reach out to the communities and the support the ministry to create a productive workforce in the country. The honouring underscores Gulf Times’ commitment and unwavering support to MoL to implement the objectives of the Second and Third National Development Strategies.The award was handed over by HE the Assistant Undersecretary of MoL Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman al-Thani at the "Partners in Success" ceremony to Gulf Publishing and Printing Company (GPPC) representative.The "Partners in Success" ceremony was held to honour the organisations and individuals that supported its efforts to enhance the work environment in Qatar. Attended by several MoL officials, representatives from various government entities, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and local media outlets, the event underscored the ministry’s commitment to fostering stronger communication with both public and private sector institutions as well as international organisations to help achieve its strategic objectives.While addressing the gathering, Sheikha Najwa said the ministry worked with dedication and determination over the past three years to realise our vision and goals striving to create a work environment that attracts a highly effective and productive workforce in line with the Second and Third National Development Strategies.“The collaborative efforts of state institutions have led to significant achievements at local, regional, and international levels. She noted that Qatar's advancements in improving its work environment have set a benchmark for other countries looking to enhance their labour conditions, particularly through co-operation with international organisations,” Sheikha Najwa said.“As part of the Third National Development Strategy, MoL has focused on striking a balance between attracting global talent and developing local expertise to lead key economic sectors," Sheikha Najwa said. "Ministry teams have worked closely with various stakeholders, particularly in the private sector, to foster an environment that is welcoming to Qatari citizens, thus increasing their participation in vital areas of the national economy,” she said.Sheikha Najwa expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the audiovisual media, who have played a crucial role in spreading the message to the wider community. Huda al-Meghiseeb, director of Public Relations and Communication at the ministry noted that the honouring ceremony serves as an opportunity to show appreciation and recognition for the efforts made in advancing the labour sector in Qatar. She also highlighted the tangible accomplishments of the sector, both locally and internationally, which have contributed to enhancing Qatar’s standing on the global stage.
