An earthquake measuring 5 on the Richter scale struck the Nicobar Islands, southeastern India.A statement issued by National Center for Seismology (NCS) today reported that the earthquake occurred 270 km from the Campbell Bay area at a depth of 10 km.There have been no reports of causalities or material damage.On December 5, a 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck the Bay of Bengal at a depth of 10 kilometres.
