Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa), represented by the National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), concluded the Tarsheed Carnival 2023 in its sixth edition in Kahramaa Awareness Park, whose activities lasted from March 7 to 11.
Kahramaa said in a statement on Sunday that the annual Tarsheed Carnival event is one of the most important sustainability and environmental awareness events held in the country, where the efforts of the Tarsheed Programme and the supporting and collaborating agencies in the field of sustainability and energy are presented in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 which targets students in the morning period and the general public in the evening period, by focusing on the importance of reducing water and electricity consumption, which in turn is reflected in the environment and its preservation.
This year's events were held in four sustainable venues, including the Kahramaa Awareness Park, the main event site, Msheireb Downtown Doha and the Oxygen Park of Qatar Foundation, in addition to Aspire Park, it also included many awareness activities, including: various lectures and workshops made of environmentally friendly and recycled materials, interactive paragraphs and competitions on Tarsheed stage, and the sustainability bazaar that displays environmentally friendly products.
The Director of Marketing and Communication, at Msheireb Properties Dr Hafez Ali Ali, said that environmental sustainability is a major pillar of community service in Qatar, pointing out that Msheireb shares this vision by presenting a sustainable model city in Msheireb Downtown Doha, and for this reason the cooperation with the National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) comes within the framework of keenness to implement the best standards of rationalisation and promote a rational culture among the public.
