Khalifa bin Sheail al-Kuwari-owned Al Muthqafah claimed the Al Wakra Cup in a nail-biting finish at the Racing and Equestrian Club’s (QREC) Al Rayyan Racecourse on Thursday.The Zuhair Mohsen-trained four-year-old filly was expertly ridden by jockey Soufiane Saadi as he patiently waited before unleashing her blistering speed in the final 100m, overtaking the leaders and clinching the victory by a head landing the Al Wakra Cup, Purebred Arabian Fillies over 2100m. This is the second career win for the four-year-old filly in her third career start.
