Season 2 of Sevens Football Tournament organised by United Nurses of India - Qatar (Uniq) has concluded. A total of 120 nurses in 10 teams from various health care organisations participated in the championship won by Medicose FC of Qatar Red Crescent Health Centre with Ezdan FC of Hamad Hospital the runner-up.
Ezdan FC's Sadiq was adjudged the Player of the Tournament and Medicose FC's Shafeer the Best Goalkeeper.
Indian embassy first secretary Sachin Dinkar Shankpal (culture, education & information), the chief guest, presented the prizes. The ceremony was presided by Uniq sports head Nizar Cheruvath.
Indian Business and Professionals Council manager Aneesh George, football coach Hanson Joseph, Uniq president Mini Siby, secretary Sabid Pampadi, football co-ordinator Salah Pattani and other officials distributed the runner-up trophy and individual awards. Competitions for families were co-ordinated by Dhanya and Jancy. Uniq sports member Ajmal Shams proposed a vote of thanks.
