The eco club of Rajagiri Public School (RPS) organised a World Sparrow Day event by setting up bird feeders and bird baths across the campus. World Sparrow Day aims to raise awareness on the decline in the sparrow population and the need for their conservation. The day provides an opportunity for individuals and communities to come together and take action to protect and conserve sparrows. Students created improvised birdfeeders from recycled materials. The idea of creating a support system originated when the students noticed a dead sparrow lying in the bus park area. Science teacher Ruby Unnithan guided the students in improvising the bird feeder.
