Pentagon: No indications Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons

The Pentagon announced that there are no indications Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons.The press service of the Pentagon released such a statement on Saturday commenting on Moscow's decision to deploy its tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus."We have seen reports of Russia's announcement and will continue to monitor this situation. We have not seen any reason to adjust our own strategic nuclear posture nor any indications Russia is preparing to use a nuclear weapon. We remain committed to the collective defense of the Nato alliance," the Pentagon said in the statement.Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that his country and Belarus had agreed to deploy tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, and that the storage facilities of these tactical nuclear weapons are under construction.Russia has stationed 10 aircraft in Belarus capable of carrying tactical nuclear weapons, Putin said, adding that it had already transferred to Belarus a number of Iskander tactical missile systems that can launch nuclear weapons.
