The Department of Malayalam at MES Indian School released ‘Sahitham’- a magazine featuring the creative and artistic attributes of students. Releasing the magazine, principal Hameeda Kadar appreciated the efforts of the department led by co-ordinator Bijily Mohanakumar and student editors, and stressed the importance of students being fluent in spoken and written communication in their mother tongue.
A cultural programme that followed included a dance by Meenakshi Subin (X-P), poem recitation by Gauri Priya (VI-M) and Gautham Jinesh (V-A), ‘maappilappattu’ by Mohamed Hasbin (VIII-G), and a folk song by Gauri Priya and her team. Lekshmi Suresh Kumar (X-M) welcomed the gathering and Ashkar Mohamed V N (XII-A) proposed a vote of thanks.
