The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced that 25 contestants have qualified for the semi-final phase of the 6th Katara Prize for Holy Qur'an Recitation 2023.
In this stage, the winners compete for the top five positions, through five episodes (broadcast on Qatar TV). The winners will reach the finals, and three winners will be ranked among the five.
Of the 25 contestants in the semi-finals there are four each from Iraq, Egypt and Morocco, three from Syria and two from Algeria. One contestant qualified from each of the following countries: Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, Indonesia, Afghanistan, India and Tanzania.
The committee of the Katara Prize for Holy Qur'an Recitation includes arbitrators known for their competence and experience in the field of 'Tajweed' and quality of voice.
