HE the Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari participated in the opening session of the Arab Monetary Fund's Joint annual meetings of financial authorities, and the 14th meeting of the Arab Finance Ministers Council in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco.
The session reviewed the most important regional and international economic developments and the challenges facing the Arab economies. The ministers discussed enhancing the role of the state in supporting the private sector's role in economic growth, in addition to several topics and working papers, including: “Issues of improving the performance of government institutions and companies” submitted by the International Monetary Fund, and “Sustainability of debt to face exposure to shocks” submitted by the Arab Monetary Fund.
Al-Kuwari also chaired the meeting of the Board of Governors of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, which was held in Rabat. During the meeting, the conditions and activities of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development during 2022 were reviewed, and the achievements it made to support development in the Arab countries, which was established to help them build a complete and solid economic renaissance.
