Starting Monday, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will commence the new evening clinic system in the Ambulatory Care Center at Hamad Medical City, for specialties that are in high demand.
The evening clinics offered are in ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat, urology, and audiology. This service will allow patients to access specialised care faster, as more specialties will be added at a later stage in the coming weeks.
Nasser al-Naimi, deputy chief, Quality for Centre for Patient Experience and Staff Engagement and director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, explained that the new evening clinics are scheduled to provide services during the next three months to more than 10,000 patients through 481 evening clinics, and their appointments for these clinics have been expedited.
Al-Naimi indicated that to improve access to outpatient services for patients, an advanced methodology was applied to the system of managing referrals and booking appointments to reduce waiting times for appointments and improve the use of clinics in all facilities of HMC. He added that more improvements are scheduled to be implemented that would facilitate access to healthcare.
Al-Naimi called on patients to take advantage of the helpline 16060 for customer service "Nesma'ak", which is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, whereby upcoming appointments can be managed at HMC facilities, whether by booking an appointment in advance, changing or canceling appointments.
