The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) participated in the celebration of Gulf Occupational Health and Safety Week during the period from April 26-30, 2023.
The Gulf occupational health and safety week is a gulf health occasion that aims to protect workers from a variety of risks associated with work or its circumstances. It also aims to raise workers' awareness of the importance of adhering to the regulations and guidelines to be protected from risks, such as accidents, work-related diseases and occupational diseases that can occur in work environment with emphasis on the provision of an approach for prevention against accidents in work environment, as well as safety and occupational health management.
Meanwhile, MoPH keeps implementing the program of promoting health in work environment for private entities which primarily aims to entrench health life patterns, prioritize workers' health and enhance work environment in various sectors.
The program is consistent with the objectives of Qatar Public Health Strategy, which is an executive for Qatar Public Health Strategy represented in promoting the health and well-being of the population in Qatar to protect them from risks and diseases that pose a threat to them.
To mark this week, MoPH intensified the awareness pertaining to health and occupational safety through publishing messages via social media platforms which tackled the issue of Burn-out that was incorporated by World Health Organization (WHO) into the International Classification of Diseases (ICD).
The awareness messages were intended to introduce the risks of burn-out syndrome, its symptoms and causes for the sake of raising workers' awareness.
