Qatar Football Association (QFA) president HE Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani Sunday announced that the Amir Cup prize pool will see a significant increase, with a total of QR30mn being on offer for the finalists. The champions will receive QR20mn while the runners-up will bag QR10mn. This increase will take effect from the ongoing 51st edition of the Amir Cup, whose final is scheduled for May 12. Similarly, starting with the upcoming 2023-24 season, the Qatar Cup prize money has also been increased to QR20mn, with the champions receiving QR15mn and the runners-up getting QR5mn.
The QFA president congratulated Al Sadd and Al Arabi clubs for their remarkable achievement in reaching the final of the 51st Amir Cup. HE Sheikh Hamad emphasised the upcoming final will be a grand spectacle, given the substantial fan base of both teams. With highly skilled players and intense competition witnessed throughout the current season, the final promises to be a display of top-tier football. The QFA president also extended warm greetings to all the fans, encouraging them to relish the wonderful atmosphere that awaits them in the final clash at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium on May 12.
