Graduate Khalid Nasser al-Kuwari, from the Media major, Radio and Television, said: “The feeling of graduation is wonderful and indescribable. The university journey was not easy at all, and in fact, I never imagined that I would finish my bachelor's degree. But thanks to Allah's grace, the prayers of my parents, and the full support of my professors, I completed my journey. Graduation is the beginning of my actual media career and the development of my skills in writing, speaking, and other media skills to become a successful broadcaster in the near future.
"My family played a role in my entering the university in the first place. In my first semester at the university, I faced some difficulties, which led to a decrease in my determination and my decision to withdraw from the semester. I will never forget the position of my uncle, engineer Hilal Jiham al-Kuwari, may Allah have mercy on him, who encouraged me to return to university to complete my studies. I thank everyone who played a role in my education, and I ask Allah (SWT) to guide them all.”
Jassem Mohamed al-Hasawi, who specialises in Media - Strategic Communication, said: “Obtaining my university degree contributed to developing my personality in terms of stability and a sense of pride. Since knowledge does not depend on a specific time or age, I had the determination and ability that enabled me to graduate through proper planning, willpower, and time management with the support of my family, who were a strong motivator for me. They provided continuous encouragement and motivation, which helped me complete my studies comfortably and away from pressure. Their support was a morale booster.
“Qatar University was the first university I joined, which gave me another opportunity to continue my studies. This opportunity may not be repeated, and thus I achieved my ambition and dreams to graduate from it and learn a lot of things that will benefit me in the future. Therefore, I extend my sincere thanks to the professors of the media department as well as to the university management, which gave me another opportunity to complete my studies.”
Ali Majid al-Kuwari, who graduates with a Master's degree in Accounting, said: “One of the things I am proud of in my academic career at the university is working on a research project that discovered the extent of measuring the application of artificial intelligence in companies and financial services in Qatar.
“I thank my generous family for providing me with unlimited support during my academic career by providing a suitable environment for studying and excelling. I also aspire to complete my academic career, obtain a PhD degree, and find an opportunity to repay my beloved country, Qatar, and serve it in the near future. At this moment, I am pleased to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all academic and administrative staff at Qatar University.”
Abdulaziz al-Baraa al-Kharabsheh, a QU graduate who majored in Media with, Radio and Television, said: “I chose media as a major out of passion and love, as I was inclined towards the field of news and television since I was young. With time, I became more convinced and developed in this field, until Allah (SWT) blessed me with acceptance into the media major, specialising in radio and television. Qatar University is much more than just a stage of study to be surpassed or an educational period to be completed. It is something that remains with you and from you, immortalised in memory with all its details, from memories, situations, friends, and teachers to the corridors, the big trees, and the tranquility of the university during the afternoon period. All of this will not be forgotten, and it will remain in memory as long as we live.”
“My mother and family represented the primary source of support, encouragement, and motivation throughout my academic journey. This support acted as a driving force that surpassed all other incentives in my pursuit of excellence and success. Now, after completing this academic phase, I have come to realise from personal experience that a supportive family environment is the best thing that can be provided to a student and is the greatest motivator for success. To those who have taught me even a single letter, I owe them a debt of gratitude and have preserved for them a place in my heart forever. Here, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you message to the professors of the Media Department, headed by the esteemed professors Fayez Shaheen, Abdulrahman al-Shami, and Mohsen Alafranji; Chaker Ayadi; Hamda al-Mohannadi; and Najoud al-Ibrahim. To my esteemed professors from the International Relations Department, Adnan Hayajneh, Kheir Diabat, Meshari al-Ruwaih, Adeeb Badr, and Aref Saeed, I express my sincere gratitude. For those for whom there is no space to mention, their position and favour are reserved in our hearts. May Allah (SWT) reward you all.”
Abdullah Abdulmohsen al-Abdullah, who specialised in Media, Strategic Communication, said: “For me, Qatar University represents a story of struggle and the sweetness of achievement, and. I studied a lot here and met many people who became like brothers to me. We supported each other throughout this journey, and God willing, we will celebrate together at the end of it. When I first joined Qatar University, I was a student in the College of Business and Economics, but Allah (SWT) willed that I would switch to the field of media during my studies there. Circumstances led me to leave my studies for a period of time, but I returned again, this time through the College of Arts and Sciences, where I found my calling and was able, with God's help, to complete my academic journey. My love and passion for media are what led me to choose my specialisation, even though it focuses on public relations. However, I believe that having a degree in this field will add to my experience in the media industry and create a secure future, along with other experiences I have learned over the years.”
He added: “My thanks to the President of Qatar University, Dr Hassan al-Derham, for all the efforts made to place Qatar University among the top international universities in recent years. I would also like to thank Dr Khalid al-Shafi, who has always provided support and guidance to all students. I thank Dr Buthaina al-Dosari, who was one of the reasons for my choice of specialisation, and her exceptional collaboration with her students. Dr Yamine Boudhane, the supervisor of the graduation project, communicated and interacted with us all the time, advised us, guided us, and directed us to give our best in this project. Dr Ismail Ahmed, the man behind the scenes, the kind teacher, and the elder brother, for all the advice, guidance, and co-operation with us as students. He was a teacher and co-ordinator of the media department. And the academic adviser, Maison AbdulRahman, who was one of the reasons for continuing to achieve for her advice during my studies at the university.”
Carmen Muneer al-Hammadi, who specialises in Nutrition, said: “It's a wonderful feeling to have completed a long journey full of challenges and achievements that will remain a beautiful memory no matter how difficult it was. In addition to the great enthusiasm for what awaits me and what I can offer, I aspire to spread the correct nutritional awareness among people so that they can maintain their health, thus reducing the incidence of diseases or minimising their risks for those who are affected. Therefore, I am now seeking to enter social media to facilitate the access of accurate and precise nutritional knowledge to people and to confront all the incorrect or inaccurate information about food and diets disseminated by non-specialist influencers. I have already started with this goal a year ago, when I opened my YouTube channel to educate about proper nutrition and correct concepts in a simple, enjoyable, and appealing way to the new generation.”
She added: “I would like to express my gratitude to my father, who has been my biggest supporter throughout my academic journey, from elementary school to university graduation, and who believed in my abilities. I would like to thank all my professors, without exception, for everything they have done for me, both academically and morally. I would also like to give special thanks to Professor Tamara al-Abdi for her dedication to her work and for helping nutrition students throughout their journey.”
Alanoud Abdullah al-Suwaidi, who specialises in Accounting, said: “I have a passion for all financial matters and accounting is the backbone of modern businesses. Accounting specialisation offers many jobs, and the country still needs capable accountants to safeguard its finances.
“On the occasion of graduation, I have mixed feelings of joy and sadness, as I will miss these beautiful days with my friends and course professors, who were a strong support in overcoming academic difficulties. I aspire to make use of the ideas and knowledge I have gained during my academic career in my work field and to always aim for the highest positions. I have achieved much as a student, including being on the Dean's List in several semesters, which motivated me to obtain a high GPA that reflects my efforts throughout my academic journey. My family's support was also a source of strength for me throughout my academic journey, through their advice on how to prioritise my courses and giving me a lot of positive feedback that helped me to overcome difficult times and pressures during my academic journey.
“Qatar University means a lot to me, as it has helped me bear very heavy responsibilities, rely on myself during peak times, and achieve many valuable accomplishments. It is a university that helps students achieve the goals and aspirations they seek. I would like to thank all of my professors who have made every effort to provide me with detailed and accurate information, and all of them have helped me overcome many of the academic difficulties that I have faced during my academic career.”
Israa Ahmed Sharqawi, a major of English Linguistics and Translation, said: “The most important thing I am proud of is the graduation project, which was the culmination of everything I learned. I am proud that we tackled a new topic about language in general and Arabic in particular, and that it was a topic that had not been discussed before.
“For the non-academic side of my achievements, one of the things I am most proud of is being part of a group of wonderful colleagues in several clubs, and my experience in leading some of them benefited me greatly. The most important and significant experiences were leading the OType team, which brought me closer to everyone and taught me a lot, and my involvement in Toastmasters Club for public speaking, which enabled me to learn from distinguished speakers and achieve the biggest accomplishment of being named the best speaker in Qatar for the year 2022, representing the university club. What I truly believe is that every person with a goal and a message can make an impact, spread knowledge, and bring people closer, which makes them a person with great influence and significant achievements.”
Regarding the support of her family during her journey, she said: “By the grace of Allah, my family was present in every stage and in every circumstance, and after Allah (SWT); my family was my biggest supporter. My father, Ahmed Sharqawi, my mother, Nada Esaid, and my siblings, Sara, Abdulrahman, Maryam, and Mohamed, were the best supporters who helped me showcase my best in all the experiences I went through.
“Thanks to Dr Tarik Khwaileh, Dr Rania al-Narzouqi, and Dr Dhyiaa Borresly, who made the learning journey enjoyable and added spirit to their lectures. Thanks also to the head of the department, Professor Mariam Gammaz. I also thank the professor who supervised the graduation project and ensured that it was a distinguished project and that we made a mark in the world of scientific research, Dr Ali Idrissi, who never hesitated to give us his abundant knowledge with love and who still encourages us to continue and directs us to never stop learning. His door was always open to us. May Allah (SWT) reward him with all good, and may all of our professors be rewarded for what they presented to make this journey a distinctive and wonderful one.”
Jassem Nasser al-Muslimani, from the Public Law Master's programme said: “During my studies, my achievements included managing my priorities and organising my time, as well as choosing a distinguished research topic for my Master's thesis, which was the legal regulation of electronic extortion in Qatari legislation. This is because studies on this topic are rare, and thanks to Allah (SWT), I reached scientific and legal facts and recommendations that reflected the importance of this study.
“My dear family played a significant role in supporting and encouraging me to enroll in the College of Law at Qatar University to complete my Master's degree. In particular, I thank my dear father, who raised me with good manners and taught me that knowledge elevates its owner. I also thank those who hold a special place in my heart: my beloved mother, who brings joy to my life; my wife, who supported me, encouraged me, and boosted my morale in the toughest of times; and my siblings for their continuous support and encouragement.”
In the near future, Jassem aspires to complete his doctoral studies in criminal law, driven by his love and passion to enhance knowledge in this field and to utilise this knowledge and skill in serving the country and society.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Dean of the College of Law, Dr Talal al-Emadi, for his support of students and researchers, his interest, and his keenness to attend student activities and events. I would also like to thank Professor Ghannam Mohamed Ghannam, who supervised my thesis, for his abundant contribution of valuable scientific opinions and his academic and moral support. Finally, I extend my thanks to the members of the committee for the defence of my master's thesis and all members of the teaching staff of the Master's programme in Public Law at Qatar University.”
Amina Hassan al-AbdulGhani, who majored in Law, said: “In fact, there is no feeling that compares to the moment of graduation from university. It is a mixture of relief as it marks the end of the university stage, ambition to enter a new stage of life, and overwhelming anxiety about the unknown. Throughout my four-year academic journey, I have achieved many accomplishments, thanks to Allah (SWT). One of the most notable ones was having my name included in the Dean's List for academic achievement in all semesters and being selected as one of the top academic achievers by the Vice President for Academic Affairs based on my cumulative GPA. My family played a significant role in helping me reach where I am now, reaping the fruits of success and excellence. Therefore, I dedicate this great achievement to my dear mother, who prayed for me and whose satisfaction I seek; my beloved father, who instilled in me the love of knowledge; and my brothers and sisters, who showed admirable patience. As for my future, I aspire to complete my university education by joining the graduate programme offered by the College of Law at Qatar University and obtaining a Master's degree in one of the branches of law.
"I extend my thanks to the honourable Dr Hassan al-Sayed, Dr Emad Qattan, Dr Abdulsalam al-Ash'al, and Dr Bashir Zaghlool. May Allah (SWT) elevate your status as you have elevated ours with knowledge, and I ask Allah (SWT) to reward you on our behalf with the best reward.”
Abdulaziz Mohsen al-Yafi'i, who majored in Civil Engineering, said: “I would like to thank all members of my family for their patience and tolerance of my shortcomings, as I was both an employee and a student, as well as a father to a family, which was challenging. I feel proud and honoured because this bachelor's degree is my second, as I completed my first bachelor's degree from Qatar University in 2021, and I aspire to obtain a PhD in my professional life. I seek to achieve a noticeable development in my current work field. The university has been my second home, and I love everything about it, including its buildings, activities, labs, and research centres. I am pleased to thank the Vice President of the University, Dr Khalid al-Khater, the Director of Facilities and Public Services Management, engineer Mai Hamad Fetais, and the Head of the Department of Environment and Sustainability, Madawi al-Shafi, as well as the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, professors, and members, for what they have provided us with in terms of information and guidance that contributed to developing our knowledge and science.”
Sara Mazen Zeina, a post-graduate student from Qatar University, said: “As a mother and a working woman, my biggest achievement was when I was a graduate student, balancing my home, work, and studies. But with perseverance, the help of my mother and her prayers for me, and prioritising my goals, I was able to pass these trials with distinction."
Yasmin Osama Atiya, Human Nutrition graduate, said: “I have spent five years at Qatar University, which was full of achievements and challenges. Everything I went through, big or small, contributed in one way or another to shaping my personality and developing my skills. I truly believe that everything a person goes through, no matter how insignificant it may seem, affects the course of their life in one way or another.
“My ultimate goal is to teach people what I have learned, as our religion strongly emphasises the importance of seeking and teaching knowledge. My goal may seem unattainable now that I am a recent graduate, but I will do my best, Allah (SWT) willing, to achieve it. Until then, I will work on building my experience in my field of work, which Qatar University has greatly contributed to. Most of Qatar University's professors are people who have achieved a lot in their professional lives, and I aspire to follow in their footsteps someday.”
Nora Mohamed al-Qassiawi, from the Finance specialisation, said: “During my years at university, I was able to see through many accomplishments, the most important of which was my inclusion on the Dean's List for all four years, winning first place with my group in a special project in partial economics course, and finally graduating with a cumulative GPA of 4.4 with honours. My future aspirations are to integrate into the job market and gain experience in the field of finance, then pursue a master's degree in financial sciences. My next goal is to apply all the acquired knowledge and expertise that I have gained throughout my university studies in a work environment that allows for mechanisms, laws, and organisational culture to develop individuals, train them, and to provide continuous education.”
“My family is the main supporter of my university journey. They provided me with assistance and motivation so that I could excel in the specialisation I chose, especially since I am a mother and, during my study period, I gave birth to two children. There were a number of difficulties and challenges, but with the support of my family, I was able to overcome all the obstacles. I would also like to express my thanks and appreciation to the Dean of the College of Business and Economics, Dr. Rana Sobh, and to all the faculty staff.”
Abdullah Ahmed al-Amoudi, who specialised in Computer Science, said: “My family has supported me strongly; they are always my backbone. Family support plays an important and vital role in my educational journey by providing emotional and financial support, encouraging me to pursue my goals, and helping me overcome challenges.
“I will continue my education and obtain a master's and then a PhD. Qatar University means a lot to me, and I am always proud to have graduated from this prestigious university. Here, I would like to express my gratitude to all the teachers who have developed my skills, expanded my horizons, and polished my knowledge in the field of my specialisation, which will help me in my professional and academic lives in the future.
Mansour Abdo al-Shaar, Law major, said: “I achieved many accomplishments, the first of which was placing on the Dean's List in all semesters and also on Vice President’s list. The biggest achievement was graduating with honours and high distinction in just three years, which is an accomplishment in itself. There is in addition to my success, balancing of work, studies, and family and receiving a distinction grade. My family's support, especially my mother's, was significant, as she was my supporter throughout my academic journey. I also thank everyone who stood by me during these challenging years.”
“One of my goals that I strive to achieve is to become a lawyer, in order to defend the oppressed, help people, and spread legal awareness. Qatar University means a lot to me, as it is the place where I gained knowledge during my studies, the place where I met my new friends, and the place where my scientific career began. In this happy moment, I address a word to all the teachers who taught me, thanking them for every word, information, and new knowledge I gained from them, and especially thanking Dr Islam Chiha for his noble dealings and his way of delivering information to students.”
