The Qatar Press Centre (QPC) has welcomed the ceasefire agreement between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, which came into effect Monday through Qatari diplomatic efforts.
In a statement the QPC expressed pride in the Qatari diplomacy, which played an effective role in reaching this agreement, and in the continuous Qatari efforts to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people.
The QPC reiterated the need to establish a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, based on the Arab Peace Initiative. It also supports the right of the Palestinian people to establish an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, the statement added.
