A delegation from the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has toured a number of environmental institutions and scientific centres in Kuwait, a statement said on Thursday.
The Qatari delegation learned about many work mechanisms and scientific research related to preserving local environments. The group was headed by Dr Ibrahim Abdul Latif al-Maslamani, assistant undersecretary for Protection and Natural Reserves Affairs.
Abdulhadi Nasser al-Marri, assistant undersecretary for Environmental Affairs was also part of the delegation that was received by engineer Samira Mohamed al-Kandari, acting director general of the Environment Public Authority of Kuwait.
The Qatari delegation learned about the environmental permit forms, the laws and regulations regulating the permits as well as the strategy of the Environmental Research Centre and waste management.
The representatives of the MoECC were also briefed on the experience of Kuwait in environmental protection programmes especially the monitoring programmes and electronic applications used.
The delegation met officials in the Kuwait Ministry of Municipality to learn about their experience in the seasonal spring camping. The delegation also toured the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research.
