GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Budaiwi reiterated the call to parties of the conflict to act quickly for stopping military operations, exercise maximum restraint, abstain from escalation, respect international agreements and diplomatic norms that guarantee sanctity and safety of diplomatic missions' premises and their employees as well as to spare civilians effects of the conflict.
He called on all parties to the conflict for serious engagement in the Jeddah talks, to reach a comprehensive political declaration that achieves security, stability and prosperity for Sudan and its people.
Oman condemns attack
The Sultanate of Oman on Saturday condemned attacking and vandalizing the Qatari embassy building in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.In a statement today, The Omani Foreign Ministry on Saturday affirmed Oman's stance rejecting of all forms of violence and sabotage targeting diplomatic missions, stressing the importance of providing protection to the diplomatic premises in accordance with the international laws and norms regulating diplomatic work.
Kuwait deplores embassy attack
The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry on Saturday condemned the attack on the Qatari embassy building in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.The ministry was alluding to the incident, where a group of gunmen burst into the diplomatic mission's building and vandalized it, Kuwait's news agency (KUNA) reported.
In a statement, the Ministry affirmed utter rejection of all forms of violence and sabotage targeting offices of the diplomatic missions in Sudan
that constitute blatant violation of the international law and the 1961 Vienna treaty.
It renewed the call upon the official authorities and all stakeholders in Sudan to take immediate action and provide full security for the buildings of
the missions, safeguard the personnel and punish the perpetrators.
