MES Indian School (MESIS), Abu Hamour branch hosted the investiture ceremony for academic year 2023-24.
President K Abdul Karim was the chief guest and Qatar Ministry of Education and Higher Education's Qatar history supervision consultant Layla Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, school senior vice-president Dr Najeeb K P and finance director Ashraf Shaafudeen were the guests of honour.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Qur'an followed by its translation by Naja Mehadin (Grade IX) and the school prayer by Mohamed Shaheen Soopi (Grade X). Principal Pramila Kannan, welcomed the audience.
The official declaration of the school parliament members was done by Riya Antony (Returning Officer of Election 2023-24). The elected officials and the house captains were given badges by the chief guest. The management committee conducted an initiation ceremony for the house prefects, following which the chief guest passed on the flag to the head boy and head girl.
Physical education trainer Jibin Jose handed over the flag to the sports captain, marking the formal transfer of authority to the house captains. The Principal delivered the oath to the head boy and head girl. Administering of the oath to other leaders was done by the head girl.
Layla al-Sulaiti inaugurated the following clubs: Kalam Club, Ramanujan Club, Tagore Club, Bhikaji Cama Club, Bahuguna Club, Alkazi Club and I Love Qatar Club. The Scout and Guide Movement was also inaugurated by her. The dignitaries released the fourth edition of the newsletter, MESIS Pulse.
