The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Rayyan and North Security Departments, have busted a gambling racket that was being operated from a house.
The individual who was running the operation was apprehended along with others involved in the racket, the MoI said in a tweet Saturday.
A search was conducted following necessary authorisation from the Public Prosecution, resulting in the suspects being caught in the act, the MoI said.
The group comprised 19 individuals from Arab, European and Asian nations.
They were found in possession of QR174,508, $10,200 and various other currencies.
The MoI said alcoholic beverages were also confiscated, in addition to gambling paraphernalia.
The detained individuals, along with the seized items, were handed over to the Public Prosecution.
