The Ministry of Justice has licensed 24 Qatari real estate brokers. The newly licensed brokers — individuals and companies — took the legal oath before the Ministry of Justice’s Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee.The permit was granted after the applicants had completed the needed procedures under Law No 22 of 2017 regulating real estate brokerage work and passed a mandatory training course.Licensing real estate agents is part of the Ministry of Justice’s efforts to regulate the brokerage profession in a way that serves the national economy and develops the real estate market mechanisms.Welcoming the new brokers, Assistant Undersecretary for Real Estate Registration and Documentation Affairs Saeed Abdullah al-Suwaidi highlighted the ministry’s keenness to advance the real estate brokerage profession due to its direct impact on the national development in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives.Al-Suwaidi, who chairs the Real Estate Brokers Affairs Committee, stressed the need for customers to deal with licensed brokers to keep the rights of all parties preserved, warning of legal risks in case of non-compliance. There is a need to adopt real estate agents’ contract templates in transactions to ensure the rights of dealers and brokers, he added, highlighting the benefits customers can obtain through licensed real estate brokers under the new real estate registration law. To ensure the professional and legal requirements for agents to give an optimal performance, the Real Estate Brokerage Department holds mandatory training courses, in coordination with the Legal and Judicial Studies Center.The Real Estate Brokerage Department, since the law went into effect, has implemented an integrated training and qualification plan, activated the executive procedures of the law, including organizing visits to real estate offices and nominating applicants to for authorized training courses.
