Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar has signed on Turkish Dogus Group as one of the ‘Founding Family’ members in a signing ceremony at the National Museum of Qatar, a statement said on Tuesday.
HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, chairperson of Qatar Museums; Dr Mohamed al-Sada, president of the Dadu Advisory Committee; Dr Mustafa Goksu, Turkish ambassador in Doha; Ahmad al-Namla, CEO of Qatar Museums; David Alexander Taylor, deputy director of Project Operations at Dadu; Ferit F Sahenk, chairman and CEO of Dogus Group; and Husnu Akhan, vice chairman of Dogus Group were present.
HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa and Ferit F Sahenk officiated the agreement between Ahmad Musa al-Namla and Husnu Akhan.
“We are pleased to have Dogus Group join as one of the ‘Founding Family’ members of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar. We extend our gratitude for their sponsorship, which brings us closer to achieving our goal of providing a place for children to learn, grow and to advance the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030 for human, social, economic and environmental development” said HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa in a press statement.
Dadu is the first institution of its kind in Qatar to provide innovative child development settings and resources to support children, families and educators to thrive and contribute to a sustainable future. The museum will be Qatar’s first publicly funded museum, with all donors, families and corporations directly contributing to the future of Qatar and its people.
Sahenk said: "We are delighted to become a member of the esteemed ‘Founding Family’ of Dadu, Children’s Museum of Qatar. We would like to express our gratitude for all parties who facilitated this treasured bond, which I believe will create a vibrant educational environment for curious children from all corners of the world.
“Dogus Group has played an important role in contributing to the cultural and artistic landscape in Turkiye through many years and with multiple initiatives. We honour world-renowned photojournalist Ara Guler who’s known as Istanbul’s Eye with the Ara Guler Museum and Archives; support the 12,000-year archaeological site of Gobeklitepe from excavation to its maintenance and have been undertaking our precious Dogus Children’s Symphony Orchestra for seventeen years.
“Our dedication to nurturing the growth of children and supporting arts will find new life with Dadu, which will serve as an invaluable resource for children from all around the world.
