Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Peru, Elmer Schialer, emphasized his country's keen interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Qatar and advancing private sector partnerships between the two nations. He pointed out the presence of numerous sectors open for collaboration, particularly in mining, food security, infrastructure, and agriculture.This came during his meeting on Sunday with a delegation of businessmen from Qatar Chamber, headed by Second Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber, Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba, where they discussed ways to enhance commercial and economic relations between Qatar and Peru, and explored investment and cooperation opportunities available to the private sectors of both countries. They also encouraged Qatari investors to learn more about the opportunities available in Peru across various sectors.The Peruvian Foreign Minister expressed his country's eagerness to increase exports to Qatar, particularly agricultural, food, and halal products. He invited Qatari businessmen to visit Peru to explore investment opportunities and participate in major exhibitions and events in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and food production.For his part, Rashid bin Hamad Al Athba stressed that the Qatar Chamber is keen to strengthen cooperation between business owners in both countries, expressing his welcome for investment partnerships between the Qatari and Peruvian private sectors.He also highlighted the importance of organizing a joint business forum that would bring together entrepreneurs from both sides to explore potential collaboration across various fields.Meanwhile, Board Member of Qatar Chamber, Nasser bin Suleiman Al Haidar, emphasized the need to activate the memorandum of understanding signed between the two chambers to enhance cooperation and promote reciprocal business visits between the two countries.
