Amir's Tajikistan visit culmination of distinguished bilateral relations: CAA chief

In charge of managing the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Mohamed Faleh Al Hajri, affirmed that the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Tajikistan at the end of a tour of a number of Central Asian countries is a culmination of the distinguished relations between the two countries.Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Hajri said that the visit of His Highness the Amir to Tajikistan is of great significance for the strengthening of trade, economic, and investment cooperation between Doha and Dushanbe, opening wide areas of cooperation in all sectors, for the benefit of the two countries.Al Hajri pointed out that the civil aviation authorities of Qatar and Tajikistan signed an air services agreement in Doha in February 2017, designating the airline companies of both sides that can operate flights between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Tajikistan.Al Hajri stated that Tajikistan has civil aviation importance for national carrier Qatar Airways, especially given an open agreement permitting airlines to operate flights at any time, be it passenger or air cargo flights between Qatar and Tajikistan.He added that the Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan, have special importance in terms of their geographical location, thus, considering operating direct flights with Dushanbe as significant in the medium and long term.He also explained that Qatar Airways operates various air cargo flights to Central Asian countries, exemplifying how Qatar Airways carried out a huge effort in transporting air cargo across Central Asia, China, South America, Africa and several other countries during the Covid-19 pandemic.Concluding his statement to QNA, Al Hajri revealed that the operation of direct flights by Qatar Airways between Doha and a number of Central Asian capital cities is subject to several considerations namely the availability of aircraft and the extent of the flights economic feasibility. Al Hajri also stated that Central Asian countries are important economically and commercially, adding that the State of Qatar's ties with Central Asian countries has a promising future.
