The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has celebrated the conclusion of "Spring of my heart" contest and honoured several children from public, private nurseries and kindergartens in Qatar, and the sisterly state of Palestine.
The celebration ceremony was attended by HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi, HE Assistant Professor of Educational Sciences-Dean of College of Education at Qatar University Dr Hessa bint Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani and Turkish ambassador Dr Mustafa Goksu, alongside the guardians of the children.
Being the first-of-its-kind event for this segment of children, it organised nurseries' management role at MoEHE in collaboration with Alami Al Momtei Nursery "My fun world".
Commenting on the occasion, Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Affairs at MoEHE Omar al-Nama outlined that the contest was launched during the last Holy Ramadan, to encourage male and female children at public and private nurseries to memorise the Holy Qu'ran. He asserted that such an event would have a profound impact on the minds of participating children as an onset to memorise the Holy Qu'ran, and in a prelude to a prosperous future.
Speaking to the audience, Director of the Nurseries Department at MoEHE Dr Rania Mohamed outlined that "Spring of my heart" is a local and international contest dedicated to the Holy Qu'ran, which has gathered, for the first time, all kids in Qatar from public, private nurseries and kindergarten, along with kindergarten children from Palestine.
Such a convergence is the fruit of partnership the department has launched to collaborate with other kindergartens and to embrace the ideas of children as well as to develop them.
Dr Rania Mohamed said the contest was judged by 12 committees from the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, with 11 committees physically attending the event and one committee remotely, to test the children of Palestine.
She pointed out that prizes were offered by the Qatar Airways Group to the four winners, with their parents, consisting of three free-of-charge flights to perform Umrah rituals, as well as other prizes from MoEHE and Alami Al Momtei Nursery and other contributions from several charity institutions and companies in Qatar to achieve the contest's objectives.
Owner of Alami Al Momtei Nursery Shamma al-Kaabi praised the contest's objectives, success and the engagement of children,while head of Rayaheen Nursery Hana Faeq Awad outlined that the nursery's role is in striving and persevering to establish a place for care and education of children at an early age.
The ceremony featured a presentation on a Qur'anic operetta that dealt with the old way of teaching the Holy Qu'ran, the prophetic Hadiths, along with a presentation on nurseries' accomplishments in promoting Islamic values and Qatari culture.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, HE Dr al-Nuaimi honoured the winners and participants in "Spring of my heart" contest.
