Shura Council participated in the 5th meeting of the 3rd session of the 3rd legislative term of the standing committees of the Arab Parliament, and the meeting of the Palestine Committee, which were held in Cairo, in preparation for the parliament session scheduled for Saturday.
The standing committees of the Arab Parliament include the Foreign Affairs and Political and National Security Committee; the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee; the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee; the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee.
The Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee adopted an Arab guiding draft law to combat domestic violence.
It also reviewed the draft report on the social situation in the Arab world for the year 2022, and discussed combating the phenomenon of bullying in the Arab countries. The committee also discussed establishing a fund to support the Arabic language in the least developed Arab countries, and reviewed the matter of protecting societal values in the Arab world.
The Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee discussed a draft report on the state of human rights in the Arab world for the year 2022, a draft road map to combat child labour, especially its worst forms in the Arab region by 2026, and a draft vision of the Arab Parliament to address the negative repercussions of natural disasters on human rights in the Arab world.
The meeting also reviewed a memorandum on urging Arab countries to join the Arab Court of Arbitration Agreement. In addition, the Foreign Affairs and Political and National Security Committee reviewed the political and security developments in the Arab world during the last period, and the draft report on the political situation in the Arab world for the year 2022.
The standing committees of the Arab Parliament also discussed the memorandum of the General Secretariat on the decisions of the Council of the League of Arab States issued by the 32nd Arab Summit held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
