Awqaf minister visits Doha Book Fair

HE the Minister of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem al-Ghanem Monday visited the ministry's pavilion at the Doha International Book Fair. According to a press statement from Awqaf, HE the Minister was briefed on the participation of various departments of the ministry in the fair and the publications and programmes offered to visitors.He visited the counters of the Department of Islamic Affairs, Department of Islamic Research and Studies, Department of Preaching and Religious Guidance with its three sections and the Department of the Holy Qur’an and its Sciences, while also covering the section of the Islamweb network.Also, HE the Minister visited the counters of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre (Fanar), the General Administration of Endowments and the Department of Zakat Affairs. During the tour, he was accompanied by Khalid bin Shaheen Al-Ghanem, Assistant Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs at Awqaf. The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is introducing its scientific, jurisprudential, advocacy and endowment publications through the counters of different departments that provide great services to the public.The ministry's pavilion includes several corners, including that of the Department of Islamic Affairs. These contain presentations on important Islamic publications along with books on Islamic heritage in the areas of jurisprudence, interpretation, Hadith and the sciences of the Holy Qur'an, while displaying the latest publications.The counter of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Centre includes an introduction to its publications in different languages and highlights its educational programmes. The ministry's pavilion also includes a counter of the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance with three sections, as well as one for the Department of the Holy Qur’an and its Sciences in the Dawah Department.
