The charge d'affaires at the embassy of Iraq in Doha, Dr Mohamed Issa al-Issawi, has affirmed that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani's visit to Iraq is historic and establishes a fresh start for bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields.
In his remarks to the Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr al-Issawi said that the visit of His Highness the Amir to Iraq carries a lot of weight, given the aspirations of the two countries, their keenness to strengthen and develop relations in various fields, and in light of Qatar's constructive and effective role in the regional and international arenas.
He said that during the visit, many co-operation files between the two countries in the political, economic, investment, and other fields would be discussed, along with regional and international issues of common interest.
The embassy official expressed Iraq's appreciation for Qatar's constructive stances in the region.
