A General Authority of Customs (GAC) delegation recently held a two-day visit to the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority of Saudi Arabia. Headed by GAC chairman Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Jamal, the delegation included a number of department directors.
The delegation visited the unified data centre and was briefed on the latest programmes, updates and customs procedures in force, a GAC statement said.
They were also briefed on the most important developments in the customs clearance system, the means of assistance, inspection techniques, devices and systems used, in addition to reviewing the system for monitoring goods in transit, the services provided to customers with the customs sector, its governance mechanism, and other customs procedures followed.
The GAC delegation also visited the Academy of Zakat, Tax and Customs to view the mechanisms in place and its interest in educating employees in accordance with the latest and most appropriate local and international practices.
