With the beginning of summer vacation and many Qatar residents planning trips, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has issued an advisory while sharing tips for safe travelling.
“Make sure that, your passport is valid for six months at least and obtain a visa to the country (destination). Some embassies in Qatar require the signature of children at the age of ten or more on the passport. Confirm the validity of official documents. Keep always the official documents and personal valuable belongings in a safe and secure place. Don’t pawn your passport or ID card to any party in any case. In case of any problem, immediately inform the nearest diplomatic mission of your country,” the advisory said.
“Be extra cautious and maintain your personal security and safety while travelling and while being in hotels, airports, or markets. Avoid mingling with unknown persons and don’t carry jewellery or any valuables unnecessarily. Avoid riding illegal taxis or going to suspicious localities and act as an ambassador of your country,” it added.
MoI, through the advisory, also urged Qatar residents to ensure the security of the house before travelling. Also, it asked thsoe travelling by road to ensure the fitness and safety of their vehicle and keep a first aid kit.
“Share driving in every one or two hours if possible with a co-traveller if he has a licence. Halt your vehicle multiple times for rest during long trips,” the advisory added.
