Qatar Chamber and Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry signed Sunday an agreement on the establishment of joint business council (JBC) between the two chambers, at the end of the meeting held by First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, and Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan Jumakhonzoda Jamshed.
The establishment of the Joint Business Council aims to facilitate communication between the two parties to increase trade and economic cooperation between the two friendly countries, by providing communication mechanisms between business owners in the two countries, exchanging information on trade and economic cooperation, and enhancing cooperation between the private sector in the two countries in various fields of trade and investment, technology transfer, services, industrial sectors and others, in addition to encouraging businessmen to participate in exhibitions held in the State of Qatar and the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting also discussed cooperation relations between the two sides and ways to enhance them for the benefit of the economies of the two countries. They also reviewed the investment climate in the two countries, the available opportunities, and the possibility of enhancing mutual investments and establishing joint projects, whether in Qatar or Tajikistan.
Bin Twar praised the relations between the two countries, which were developed recently and opened new horizons for cooperation between the two countries, noting that this will reflect positively on the trade and economic sectors and contribute to enhancing trade and investment exchange.
He explained that Qatar Chamber encourages Qatari businessmen to invest in Tajikistan as a promising destination for investment due to the feasible investment opportunities available there.
The First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber called on Qatari and Tajik business owners to benefit from the developed relations between the two countries and to enhance cooperation between them through establishing partnerships and trade alliances that benefit the economies of the two friendly countries. He also called on Tajik companies to invest in Qatar and benefit from the encouraging business climate, stimulating laws and the abundance of investment opportunities in all sectors in Qatar, especially in the presence of world-class infrastructure and attractive business climate.
For his part, the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan praised the development of relations between the two countries, pointing out that Tajik companies are interested in opening markets for their products in Qatar, as these products are characterized by quality and competitive price. He noted that the establishment of a joint business council will enhance cooperation between the two sides in various commercial and economic fields.
He pointed out that his country will hold a large international investment forum next September, inviting Qatar Chamber to attend this forum which will discuss many important economic issues. It will also be an opportunity for the Qatari side to closely see the investment climate and opportunities in Tajikistan, he added, noting the successful investments of Qatari Diar Company in Tajikistan.
