His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani performed the Eid al-Adha prayers along with a group of loyal citizens at the Lusail praying area Wednesday morning.
Also performing the prayers were His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa al-Thani, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah al-Ghanem, and a number of Sheikhs, ministers, members of the Shura Council, and a number of ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions in the country.
His Eminence Sheikh Dr Thaqeel bin Sayer al-Shammari, who is a judge of the Court of Cassation and Supreme Judiciary Council member, led the prayers and delivered the Eid sermon in which he explained that Eid is a manifestation of the nation's unity, a day of giving, piety and loyalty, and one of Allah's rituals, and it is the greatest of days for Allah.
The sermon included information on the sacrifice and becoming closer to God on this day when the feelings of Muslims unite, as His Eminence urged to purify souls, purify hearts, repair them, uphold ties of kinship, and strengthen bonds between members of society, recalling the obligation of the congregation, obedience to the rulers, and supplication for them.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani congratulated all the people of Qatar and residents on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
