Several Arab, Islamic countries and international organisations have denounced continuous Israeli aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp in the occupied West Bank yesterday, which has so far killed eight Palestinians, wounded 50 others, and damaged property and infrastructure.
These countries and organisations warned, in statements, of the serious dangers of the ongoing Israeli escalation against the Palestinians, stressing the need for the international community to act urgently to provide the necessary protection for the Palestinian people and to oblige the Israeli entity to stop its flagrant violations of international law and force it to respect the resolutions of international legitimacy.
Jordan strongly denounced the recent aggression targeting Jenin, underscoring the critical need to put an end to the continuous incursions into Palestinian cities and ensure their protection from repeated assaults. In a statement, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry expressed Jordan’s outright rejection of these attacks, along with any unilateral measures that undermine efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution.
It emphasised the crucial role of the international community, urging its prompt and effective intervention to provide comprehensive protection for the Palestinian people residing in all the occupied Palestinian territories.
Oman has expressed its condemnation of the recurrent Israeli attacks on Jenin and Palestinian camps in the West Bank.
Oman voiced its firm stance and strong backing to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish their independent state on the 1967 borders in accordance with the two-state solution, relevant Security Council resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative. Iran denounced the Israeli aggression on the city of Jenin and its camps as “a clear example of state terrorism”.
The Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) said these heinous acts are yet more crimes in Israel’s record of organised terrorism against the Palestinian people, while strongly condemning the crimes committed by the Israeli occupying forces in Jenin.
The OIC called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibility, to enforce its relevant resolutions, put an end to the continuous Israeli aggression and provide protection for the Palestinians.
UN humanitarian co-ordinator for the Palestinian Territories Lynn Hastings said that she was “alarmed by scale of Israeli forces operation,” noting the airstrikes in a densely populated refugee camp. (QNA)
