A total of 4,100 families in Qatar have benefited from QR26.4mn aid provided by Zakat Fund during June.
The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs disbursed QR26,473,593 to registered eligible families during the month.
Saad Omran al-Kuwari, Director of the Zakat Affairs Department, said this amount included periodic and one-time lump sum aid. And all of these were disbursed by the department to the registered families in accordance with the approved mechanisms.
Al-Kuwari explained that periodic aids that are provided to eligible families on a monthly basis amounted to QR8,718,149 while one-time aids stood at QR17,755,444.
The department provides the service of calculating corporate Zakat free of charge to facilitate the owners of companies in performing the obligatory duty, and they can send the company's financial budget to the department's e-mail [email protected] and the management specialists assess the budget and determine the value of the Zakat due on the company.
Individuals and companies can also pay their due Zakat through the department's website www.zakakt.gov.qa or through offices and collection points located throughout Qatar.
The Zakat Affairs Department also allows the beneficiaries, through its website, to submit a request for assistance and find out the required papers and documents.
